Labor Day Cousin Camping

Rochelle and Derrick organized a camping trip for the Green Peak area in the White Mountains for Labor Day weekend.  We stayed Thursday-Monday, and had a great time together!  In addition to us and Rochelle and Derricks Family, Aaron & Amy & kids, Adam & 6 kids, Mom & Dad, Grandma Great Lela, and friends AJ & Jessica and kids came.  We had a lively group!   (But because I only got my camera out on a few occasions... I missed groups of people entirely... woops!)  Thanks Rochelle & Derrick for planning it and arranging the meals (and the occasional use of your bathroom)!

Rochelle and Derrick brought up their Rhino and made sure everyone got a turn getting all muddy on it!  The kids loved it and most of them didn't mind the mess.

Ella rode on Rochelle's lap and I think she protcted her some of the flying mud.

They're even cuter when their dirty!

A look into the little girly fort.  CUTE KIDS! Kate, Grace, Lyla, Ella, and Ava.

Kylee Richards, Sage, and Maya.

These older girls had a pretty nice fort of thier own.  They even collected moss from the forest, and made "moss beds" or "carpet" in their fort.  They made it into a hotel, with rooms for guests to sleep in.

Kate and Grace were buddies.  Lyla too, when she got away from momma.

Sunday
On Sunday, we cleaned-up as best we could (without showers mind you) and headed to Eager to attend church.  We smelled like campfire smoke... but we gave those people sitting around us fair warning!   On the way back to camp, we stopped to gather flowers to bring back and decorate the girl's forts.  They really enjoyed "gathering" things in the woods-- be it moss, flowers, or pinecones.

Hike with lots of girls... and Jeff
Jeff and I took Macey, Abbey, Sage, Grace, Aubree, Maya, Ella & Kate on a little hike through the woods before heading out Monday afternoon.

Watch out for the mud Sage!

  2. What a fun trip that was! I love the pic of your girls in front of the sunflowers. Sadly, though, I will always remember that trip as the one that Maya was viciously picked on by those pesky bees! Relentless!
