Wet Beaver Creek (August 2009)

Jeff doing some extreme cliff jumping a Wet Beaver Creek. This is a little move I like to call "the running man". Way cooler than a "gainer" don't you think?

Aubree has been very excited to get back to school this year. She loves learning and enjoys being part of an organized class full of kids her age. In fact, after "Meet the Teacher" on Friday she said, "I wish school would start tomorrow!" She is such a sweetie!

Now I just need to get creative about what healthy things to put in her lunch again! Any ideas are welcomed!

Meet the Teacher Day

Aubree got to meet her 2nd grade teacher today, Miss Roberts.

Miss Roberts and Aubree

Upon leaving, Aubree said "I think I got the best teacher in the whole school!!!!" Miss Roberts was kind and was full of sweet smiles. A perfect match. Aubree is very excited to start school on Monday.

Breakfast is ready! Where's Ella?

Ok Hydee, this reminds me of one of your post not too long ago, but atleast your tp wasn't INSIDE the toilet!!!!!

Ella's the guilty one!

Makutu's Island

We went to Makutu's Island yesterday for some end-of-Summer fun. It was a bit intimidating to the girls at first; Aubree and Maya got separated from eachother in the 3-story high network of tunnels. They soon found eachother again and stayed close to eachother from then on out.

Aubree on the zip line.
Maya clasping hands with Aubree as they darted through the huge indoor playground.
Pretty little Kate.

Team Monson at Tonto Creek

We spent last Saturday exploring the twists and turns of Tonto Creek. The girls have never been so busy! We explored, fished, swam, picnic'd and hiked.

Jeff caught one "Hungry Stick-Fish", two Brook Trout and one Rainbow.

While I didn't catch any fish, I did catch a snapshot of this beautiful butterfly. I was pretty lucky too, considering I had Kate in my arms trying to grab the lens cover that was dangling from my camera, and Ella hanging on my leg.

As usual, Kate loved exploring the outdoors.

The creek had many cascading waterfalls, boulders to climb, and logs to balance across.

Survivor girls! Finding their way out of the jungle.

Kate, our youngest explorer.
