A Sign of the Times

A pair of burrowing owls live along-side the farm road that we travel, on the way to piano lessons. We spotted them about eight months ago, and now, every Wednesday, I pull over, and let the girls all peer out the window for a minute at our dear old friends. This week they weren't at their usual home, a hole in the side of a bank with a peice of wood sticking out of it, but were about 3 telephone poles to the North. Aubree tried to think of a reason that they might have moved their home.... she said, "Maybe there is an "owl bank" and the "owl bank" had to come and take their home, so they had to find a new one". She later decided that they were probably just out looking for food.

There have been a lot foreclosures in our community and Aubree couldn't help but notice what was going on!
