A Day at the Zoo
We stopped to check out the condor. Their habitat was created in a tall and very deep cage. One of the birds was sitting atop his perch in the distant upper right-hand corner. He looked at us, and started to open up his wings. This huge bird swooped down, coming directly at us at full speed. He crashed into the cages-end at the height of my shoulders, only an arm's lenth infront of us. He then fell down to the ground, and slowly made his way back to his perch. Did he get so excited about a tasty meal that he forgot he was in a cage at the zoo? If we ever move to the Andes, I will have to keep an eye out for condors. The mist-spraying fans are always a delight on a warm day at the zoo. It's a treasure to come across one of these. We've got to make one for our back yard.
We finished the day with a few hours at Yakulla Caverns, a water play area, at the zoo. The girls had a blast. Aubree's favorite is the cave and the quick slippery slide that shoots out from it. Maya enjoyed going underneath the waterfall. Kate and Ella liked the stream and the splash pad. We came prepared this time with swim suits on hand.
Angela, I'm so glad you have a blog! This is going to be so much fun! Thanks for the pictures of the beautiful girls. :-)
